  16. New Hampshire House Bill 1380, recently signed into law by Governor
  17. Steve Merrill, exempts from real estate property taxes ''radio
  18. towers, antennas, and related or supporting structures used
  19. exclusively in the operation of an Amateur communications station
  20. under Federal Communications Commission Amateur Radio Service rules
  21. and regulations.''

  23. ARRL Counsel Chris Imlay, N3AKD, called the bill ''an important
  24. precedent,'' saying that it may have far reaching effects throughout
  25. the US as amateurs continue to seek relief from local and state
  26. regulation.

  28. ARRL New Hampshire Section Manager Al Shuman, N1FIK, who played a
  29. key role in the passage of the bill, largely credits ARRL New
  30. Hampshire State Government Liaison (and representative in the state
  31. legislature) Ralph Rosen, W1HSB, and a team of ARRL Field
  32. Organization volunteers, who testified numerous times before both
  33. House and Senate committees.
